NBA Picks February 12, 2024

Denver Nuggets vs. Milwaukee Bucks

Tipoff: 8:00 pm EST
Spread: Nuggets -1
Total: 231

The Milwaukee Bucks welcome the defending NBA Champions, the Denver Nuggets, to town in a non-conference matchup. It is a possible NBA Finals matchup? Maybe. Nonetheless, the Bucks have been struggling since they hired Doc Rivers as the head coach.

This could be because Doc Rivers is implementing a brand new system and going through growing pains. However, one area this team has improved in is the defensive side of the basketball.

For much of the season, the Bucks were bottom in the league defensive categories. However, over the last five games, the Bucks are #11 in defensive efficiency. Further, the Bucks acquired Patrick Beverley at the trade deadline to give the Bucks the defensive intensity and edge they will need.

On the flip side, the Nuggets have been a team that has trended toward the Under in their road games. In fact, on the road this season, the Nuggets are 17-10-1 to the Under. Additionally, the Under is 7-3 in the last 10 games for the Bucks.

Lastly, the last three head-to-head meetings have gone Under the total, including the previous matchup this season in Denver.

Best Bet: Nuggets/Bucks Under 231

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Spread: Cavaliers -10.5
Total: 230.5

The Philadelphia 76ers are trying to figure out life without Joel Embiid. One area the Sixers are struggling in is the defensive side of the basketball. Over the last five games, the 76ers have been the third-worst defensive-rated team.

Furthermore, the Sixers are allowing 124.2 points per game over the last five games.

Meanwhile, this Cleveland Cavaliers team is not being talked about enough. The Cavs are #3 in offensive rating and #1 in defensive rating over the last five games. I expect the Cavaliers offense to find success in this game against the Sixers.

Best Bet: Cavaliers TT Over 120.5

YTD Record: 33-23 (58.9%)
