Super Bowl LVIII Chiefs vs. 49ers: Underdog Fantasy Pick ‘Em – Defense
L’Jarius Sneed Higher Than 4.5 Tackles + Assists
The fourth-year defensive back out of Louisiana Tech has been a strong anchor on the backside of this tough Chiefs defense. His coverage skills have been key in getting the Chiefs to the Super Bowl.
His tackling has also been there when needed. In close wins against the Ravens last week and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game, Sneed recorded five tackles in each. In last year’s Super Bowl victory against a strong Philadelphia Eagles offense, Sneed accounted for seven tackles.
Taking on a tough 49er offense in this year’s Super Bowl, San Francisco will likely be able to move the ball at least some. This will lead to Sneed getting tackles in what could be his last game as a Chief. The defensive back will be a coveted free agent this off-season.
Fred Warner Higher Than 8.0 Tackles + Assists
Fred Warner is coming off a 13-tackle NFC Championship game against the Detroit Lions. In three of his last four playoff games, Warner has grabbed at least eight combined tackles. The Divisional round game against the Green Bay Packers was the lone exception, where he only recorded seven tackles.
Going against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII should give Warner plenty of chances at making tackles. Through three playoff games this season, Isiah Pacheco has averaged 21 carries per game, twice carrying the ball 24 times. Look for the Chiefs to try and establish the run and for Warner to rack up tackles.

Nick Bolton Higher Than 9.0 Tackles + Assists
Bolton has 27 tackles in the Kansas City Chiefs three playoff games. Against the Dolphins Bolton grabbed 10 tackles while scoring 13 tackles against the Buffalo Bills. In the AFC Championship game, Bolton only had four tackles, but that was against a Ravens team that abandoned the run almost completely.
With Christian McCaffrey in your Super Bowl backfield, the 49ers won’t be abandoning the run game. As potent as their offense is, nobody wants to get into a shootout with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. Along with the back running back in football averaging 18.5 carries per game in the playoffs, Bolton should see plenty of action.
Nick Bosa Higher Than 0.5 Sacks
Nick Bosa, the 6’ 4” 266 lbs defensive end from Ohio State, is sure to be chasing Patrick Mahomes around all evening. The 49ers star drug Jared Goff down twice in the NFC Championship game and recorded 10.5 sacks in the regular season.
The last time these two teams met in October 2022, Bosa got to Mahomes once in a 44-23 loss at home. Bosa also recorded a sack against Mahomes in their Super Bowl LIV matchup. Going into this game two-for-two against Mahomes, I like the odds of getting another one.
Patrick Mahomes doesn’t get sacked a ton due to his ability to scramble so well, but he did go down 27 times in the regular season, at least once in every game except one, and was sacked twice in the AFC Championship game against the Ravens.
