Brooklyn Nets vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Tipoff – 6:00 pm EST
Spread: 76ers -4.0
Total: 231.5
No Joel Embiid, De’Anthony Melton, Nicolas Batum, Marcus Morris Sr, and Robert Covington for the Philadelphia 76ers, yet they are still a four-point favorite on Saturday. Hmm. Plus, Philly has been slumping, only winning one of their last five games. Let’s go with the road dog Brooklyn Nets to at least cover the four-point spread for us on Saturday in the Wells Fargo Center. The total is right in the range that I project it to be, so no play there.
Best Bet: Nets +4.0 (-110)
Golden State Warriors vs. Atlanta Hawks
Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
Spread: Hawks -2.5
Total: 248.0
The Atlanta Hawks are hosting the Phoenix Suns on Friday, while the Golden State Warriors are in Memphis playing the Grizzlies, so this will be a back-to-back for both teams. But at least Atlanta is at home for both games. And the Warriors are old and beat up. While Atlanta isn’t that good at home, Golden State is even worse on the road. So Atlanta -2.5 is the play. And I peg this game to end in the low 240s (maybe lower since both teams will be tired), so under 248.0 it is.
Best Bet: Hawks -2.5 (-110); Warriors/Hawks Under 248.0 (-110)
