Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – February 2
Bam Adebayo – Higher than 4.0 1st Quarter Points
I’m not usually one to look to the first quarter points projections, but this one is juicy. Adebayo is averaging 4.9 first quarter points on the year, but a recent bad run has him down to a 4.0 projection. That bad run should come to an end here being that the Wizards are the worst defensive team in the league. They are also 29th in the league in points given up to centers this year at 26.69 per game.
Devin Booker – Lower than 29.5 Points
Sure, Booker has the ability to pop off just about any game. You also might think a game against the 29th ranked team in terms of points allowed is a gift. However, he’s been held to just 22 in back-to-back games and it isn’t even necessarily due to his shooting. Instead, he’s taken more of a facilitator role. After his run of big scoring games in three straight, the dip has provided games of 7 and 8 dimes respectively. Even if his scoring picks up a little here, I expect him to dish enough to stay under this number.
Clint Capela – Higher than 9.5 Rebounds
Capela is averaging 10.5 rebounds on the year, so this projection on his boards is a little surprising to me. It’s also not like he’s been cold as of late. He has double figures in rebounds in four of the last five games. Those numbers are down a bit from December, when he averaged 12.2 rebounds – but I still think he’s safe to log at least 10 here.
