Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – January 29
Daniel Gafford – Higher than 21.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
Gafford is coming off a 13 rebound double-double and was just a rebound short the game before. Now he steps up against the Spurs who are 28th in the league in opponents’ rebounds. The “Pick’Em Scorchers” play of higher than 0.5 double-doubles is enticing, but this is the safer version of that. The points should pick up any rebounding slack and he’s been getting a dime or two per game.
Lauri Markkanen – Higher than 24.5 Points
Markkanen has started to find his stroke in the last couple games. He’s shot 50% or better from both the field and from deep in each of the last two. That’s left him with 31 points per game over that span, which dwarfs this projection. This has been the case lately any time the Jazz are hot. He’s beat this projection in five of their last seven wins. With the Nets in the bottom half of the league in points allowed, Markkanen should take advantage.
Kawhi Leonard – Higher than 6.0 Rebounds
Leonard has been all over the glass as of late. He’s beat this projection in each of his last three games. In that time, he’s averaged 8.3 boards per game. The Cavaliers have been decent in preventing big rebounding numbers, with the exception of the last few games. They have been well above their season average for the last three – so let’s see if Leonard can help that trend continue.
