Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – January 21
Jalen Suggs – Higher than 11.5 Points
Suggs went through a cold spell recently that included games of 9 points, 4 points, and 2 points. However, since then, he’s found his form again. He’s now seen back to back games of 16. He’s also back to taking roughly the same number of shots he was early in the month when he was regularly going to 20+. The projection expects some regression, but I see reasons to believe he could still be on the way up.
Jusuf Nurkic – Higher than 11.5 Rebounds
The season average for Nurkic is a touch below this projection. On the year he has just 10.6 boards per game. However, he’s busted out in a wild way as of late. He’s gone for at least twelve rebounds in each of his last four games. Over that span, he’s averaging 13.75 per game, which includes back to back games with 15 rebounds. Let’s ride that momentum into Sunday.
James Harden – Lower than 16.5 Points
January 8th was the last time we csaw Harden clear this projection and it was only by 1.5 points. I think his projections tend to get propped up a little by his name value. After all, he’s only beat their number twice this month and his monthly average is solidly below this. Brooklyn is a middle of the pack defensive team, so it’s not even like we can point to a soft matchup. I think they’ll continue to lean on Embiid and Harris on Sunday.
