Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – January 16
Joel Embiid – Higher than 32.5 Points
The NBA’s reigning MVP – and current leading scorer – Joel Embiid, made a triumphant return to action on Monday, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to victory with 41 points.
Next up for him is the reigning NBA champions on Tuesday. However, the champs have listed all five of their starters as questionable for the game, including Nikola Jokic. I think that Embiid can get us the required 33 points regardless of who suits up for the visitors.
Domantas Sabonis – Lower than 12.5 Rebounds
Yes, Domantas Sabonis is a rebounding machine, currently leading the NBA in rebounding with 12.7 per game. However, his last game was the first time in five games that he grabbed at least 13 boards (he got 13 on the dot). Plus, tomorrow’s opponent, the Phoenix Suns, are among the best in the NBA at limiting rebounds to their opponents. Lower than 12.5 boards it is for Sabonis.
De’Aaron Fox – Higher than 27.5 Points
While the Suns do limit rebounds to their opponents, they aren’t the greatest at limiting points. Their defense is rated right around the average point in the NBA this season. So I’m taking the higher than 27.5 points for De’Aaron Fox tomorrow.
The Kings’ guard is averaging 27.8 points per game this season and broke out of a slump with 32 points at Milwaukee on Sunday.
