Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – December 21
Daniel Gafford – Higher than 8.0 Rebounds
Gafford has been on a little bit of a hot streak on the boards. He’s averaging 10.6 boards a game over the last three, which dwarfs the 7.7 he’s getting on the year. Even if we think these last few games are a fluke, a 7.7 average against a team in Portland that ranks 25th in opponents’ rebounds should hit this projection.
Toumani Camara – Higher than 8.5 Points
Okay, so Camara hasn’t gotten the chance to shoot the rock much lately. He took just four shots against the Suns on Tuesday, but a lot of that was the Blazers relying on their big names in a tight game. This came on Thursday should be both a blowout and one with even higher scoring. The Wizards rank 29th in the league in opponents’ scoring – and are just 0.1 point away from that last place designation. Expect the Blazers to get ahead and allow more guys like Camara to be taking the shots.
Ja Morant – Higher than 0.5 Double Doubles
Ja had an amazing first game back from suspension that ended with a buzzer beater for the win. While he came up short on the double double in the first one, there are lots of factors that suggest he’ll get one here. The first is that they’re playing the Pacers, which is a recipe for plenty of made baskets. The second is that now that he’s back into the swing of things, I expect him to be back to distributing more.
