We’ve got a relatively quiet Friday night in the NBA tomorrow as the league gets ready for its big Christmas Day extravaganza. I’ve perused the six games on the schedule and found the best plays for us. Here are my NBA picks for December 22nd.

NBA Picks December 22nd
Toronto Raptors vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Spread: 76ers -8
Total: 228.5
The Nick Nurse revenge game, as he faces the team he led to an NBA Championship yet still got fired a few years later. The Toronto Raptors are abysmal on the road, going 3-8 this year. Philadelphia is 11-4 at home, has won six of their last seven games, and Joel Embiid is having an even better season than his MVP one last year. Philadelphia isn’t just winning – they are spanking teams lately – so I like them to cover the eight points. The total is lined up right in my eyes, so no play.

Denver Nuggets vs. Brooklyn Nets
Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
Spread: Nuggets -4
Total: 230.5
The defending champion Denver Nuggets have won three straight on the road, but are only 8-8 overall away from home this season. The Brooklyn Nets, meanwhile, are struggling, losing four straight. Yet, I’m going to get wild here and take the home dogs to at least cover the four points. Mikal Bridges is bound to break out of his slump eventually, and Denver can’t keep winning on the road, especially now that they are on an East Coast trip. Let’s roll the dice. No play on the total.
