With the inaugural NBA in-season tournament in the books, the league is back up and running full speed as of Monday. With 26 teams in action on Monday night, Tuesday only brings us five games. But it is all elite teams in action, save the Chicago Bulls. Here are my NBA picks for December 12th.

NBA Picks December 12th
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks
Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST

No respect from the books for our tournament champion?! Or maybe people are expecting a comedown after the Los Angeles Lakers’ big win on Saturday. Myself, I’ll gladly take the Lakers -1 at Dallas. The Mavericks are playing tonight (Monday), first off, and not at home – they’re in Memphis. Plus, Kyrie Irving is out indefinitely with a heel injury, and Tim Hardaway Jr missed Monday’s game with back spasms. And I love the Under for this game – I expect it to end around 225.
Best Bet: Lakers -1 (-110), Lakers/Mavericks Under 235.5 (-110)
Golden State Warriors vs. Phoenix Suns
Tipoff – 10:00 pm EST
Spread: Suns -3
Total: 232.5
It’s Big 3 time, baby!! Bradley Beal is expected back for the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. What’s that? Kevin Durant is questionable with a bum ankle?! Grr. Guess this shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the Suns are snakebitten this season. Regardless, they are probably in better shape than the Golden State Warriors, who are struggling so badly this season that many have written their death certificate. I like Devin Booker and Bradley Beal (and hopefully Kevin Durant) to prevail at home on Tuesday. No play on the total.
