Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – November 16
Josh Giddey – Higher than 0.5 Blocks (1.5x Pick’Em Scorcher)
I know that Chet Holmgren is the one getting all the attention for his blocks, but Giddey is on an impressive run right now. He has a block in three of his last four games. Additionally, he has multiple blocks in each of his last two games. It seems reasonable to think he rejects one on Thursday.
Cameron Johnson – Lower than 16.5 Points
On the year, Cameron Johnson has had exactly one game where he shot above 50% from the field. Not coincidentally, it was the only game that he went over this projection or even came within a bucket for that matter. Expecting him to do it twice in a row seems like a stretch.
In addition to thinking Johnson can’t keep it up, there is the whole piece about the Heat’s defense. They’re one of just 8 teams who are allowing under 110 points per game in the NBA this year. They’re even better at home, which means points might be few and far between for the Nets.
Duncan Robinson – Higher than 3.5 Three-Pointers
Not only has Robinson exceeded this projection in the last two games, but it seems that the Heat want to let him cook. He’s averaging taking 7.4 deep balls per game on the year but is shooting 9.0 per game over the last three. That’s led him to those ‘higher than’s in the last couple. I think they let him keep firing away.
