Joel Embiid – Lower than 28.5 Points
Yes, the Washington Wizards, the Sixers’ opponent on Monday, stink. But I think that hints at the lower 28.5 points play on Joel Embiid. Philadelphia can probably limit his minutes and still handle Washington easily. Plus, while the reigning MVP is averaging 29.4 points per contest this season, he has gone lower than 28.5 points in two straight games and three of five this season.
Jimmy Butler – Lower than 20.5 Points
We’ll also take the lower on points for one of Embiid’s former teammates, Jimmy Butler. First of all, it’s the regular season and Butler doesn’t truly come alive until the playoffs. Plus, he’s off to a horrendous start to this year, only averaging 17.2 points on 40% shooting from the field. And his right knee is bothering him. I think he goes lower than 20.5 points against the Lakers on Monday.
Giannis Antetokounmpo – Lower than 25.5 Points
Let’s fade a third superstar, and take the lower on points for Giannis Antetokounmpo. With Damian Lillard riding shotgun with him now in Milwaukee, Antetokounmpo is only taking 15 shots per game, five less than last season. And he’s only averaging 24 points per game in the early going, including lower than 25.5 points in three of his five games.
