Fantasy Basketball Dynasty Stashes for 2023/24
Jonathan Kuminga – Golden State – PF – 23% Rostered
Jonathan Kuminga hasn’t shown a heck of a lot of progress over his first two seasons in the NBA, but he is on the veteran-laden Golden State Warriors. And the Warriors thought highly enough of him to take him with the seventh overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, so the potential is there. Plus, Steve Kerr has been raving about the soon-to-be 21-year-old’s progress over the summer. With the Warriors roster continuing to age out, the youngster should continue to see his role increase.
Kenyon (KJ) Martin Jr. – Clippers – SF – 12% Rostered
It’s impossible to find rostered percentages in dynasty leagues, but KJ Martin’s rostered rate in Yahoo leagues hasn’t caught up to his production. The son of a former #1 overall NBA draft pick, 22-year-old Junior posted career highs across the board last season in Houston. Now in La La Land and backing up the oft-injured Kawhi Leonard, he’s ready for an even bigger role in his fourth NBA season.
Talen Horton-Tucker – Utah – SG/SF – 8% Rostered
This could be a make-or-break season for Talen Horton-Tucker, as he opted into the player option on his contract this year with the Jazz. He’ll want to enter free agency on a high note. You’d think on a rebuilding squad like the Jazz, there would be opportunities for versatile 22-year-old like THT. It would help even more if he could shoot, but he at least will bring you some value in points, boards, and assists, even if he doesn’t progress from last season.
James Wiseman – Detroit – C – 31% Rostered
James Wiseman is a center, so that’s one positive for his fantasy basketball value. Plus, he’s still only 22 years old and showed a decent enough game once he was given minutes in Detroit. He’ll help you in points, boards, and blocks, and considering he was valued highly enough for Golden State to draft him second overall in 2020, the potential for more is there.
Jarace Walker – Indiana – PF – 21% Rostered
The ninth overall pick in this past June’s draft, Jarace Walker has the size, length, athleticism, and defensive talents to earn himself some minutes right away for the Pacers. Expected to compete for the starting power forward spot, Walker might not even have to be a guy you have to stash – he may be able to contribute to your team right out of the gate.
Christian Braun – Denver – SG – 7% Rostered
The defending champion Denver Nuggets lost key reserves Bruce Brown and Jeff Green this offseason, so they are in desperate need of some talent coming off of their bench. The hope – and expectation – is for second-year pro Christian Braun to provide that spark and take over Brown’s role as a super-sub. He showed flashes last season, is only 22 years old, and is going to be given the opportunity, so he’s definitely stash-worthy.
