UFC 278 is a pretty chalky card, even for me – Jeff ‘Chalkx’ Fox. So it makes putting together a UFC 278 DraftKings lineup within the salary limits a bit of a struggle. I’ve had to make difficult decisions and cut fighters that I would have rather not, but that’s the sacrifices I’m willing to make for you, my good reader. Here is a winning lineup for us for this Saturday.

UFC 278 DraftKings Roster, Fantasy UFC
Alexandr Romanov – $9,000
My big pickup this week is a personal favorite of mine, #chunkyguy Alexandr Romanov. Actually, he is the incredible shrinking fighter currently, getting himself in peak shape to continue to dominate the UFC heavyweight division. He’s averaging an insane 110.2 fantasy points over his five UFC fights, only dipping below the century mark in one fight that ended prematurely due to an illegal blow. Look for him to continue the dominance this weekend against Marcin Tybura.
Jared Gordon – $8,900
You can’t go wrong adding a superhero to your squad, so let’s pick up Jared ‘Flash’ Gordon. He’s on the upswing, winning three of his last four, while his opponent this week, Leonardo Santos, is 42 and has looked washed in his last couple of fights. Averaging 76.2 fantasy points over 10 UFC fights, even with a couple of three-point duds thrown in there, shows that Gordon is normally worth the money spent on him. Unless it’s one of those three-point fights, which Saturday surely will not be.
Paulo Costa – $8,700
Speaking of washed fighters, I present to you one Luke Rockhold, former UFC Middleweight Champion. He’s always had a suspect chin and has lost all five of his pro fights via knockout. He’s 37 now, hasn’t fought in over three years, and hasn’t won a fight in almost five. And who’s he up against this week? Paulo Costa, who has knocked out 11 of his 13 pro victims. Rockhold is getting his lights put out on Saturday.
Jose Aldo – $8,000
I’ll take me some Jose Aldo for only $8,000. He’s looked extremely sharp as of late, winning three straight fights at bantamweight. Renowned for his wrestling defense, he’s up against Merab Dvalishvili this week, a man who relies on his wrestling and grappling to win fights. Aldo should be able to keep it standing and win this fight. Unless Father Time finally catches up with him.
Jay Perrin – $7,700
Give me Jay Perrin for only $7,700 in his second UFC fight. He looked sharp in his first outing, a short-notice loss to beast Mario Bautista. This week’s opponent, Aori Qileng, is no Mario Bautista. Even in the Bautista loss, Perrin managed 33 fantasy points. He should get us much more this weekend on our UFC 278 DraftKings lineup.
Daniel da Silva – $7,600
Finally, I’m picking up a fighter I actually picked to lose on Saturday, Daniel da Silva (aka Daniel Lacerda). However, it was a bit of a toss-up choosing him over opponent Victor Altamirano, so only $7,600 for da Silva seems like a wise investment. He’s a finishing machine, rare for a flyweight, and has fought far stiffer UFC competition than Altamirano. Let’s roll the dice.
