We’re looking at one of the thinnest slates for a Thursday night in some time. Just four teams will be in action on the 27th, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t enough players to put together a mean NBA DFS lineup. If you’re struggling to figure out exactly how to get started, look no further.
(NOTE: This NBA DFS lineup was made ahead of time. Always check for the latest injuries and inactives prior to lineups locking. )
NBA DFS Picks for Thursday – Jan 27th
PG – Russell Westbrook ($8,500) – LAL
SG – Klay Thompson ($5,300) – GSW
The Klay that we came to know and love years ago is still there to an extent. No matter what, my guy is going to fire off at least five three-pointers a game and more likely it’ll be closer to seven or eight. He’s only failed to make at least three of them once in the last four games, which means he’s easily going to cover what you’re going to spend on him in this NBA DFS lineup.
SF – Otto Porter Jr ($5,100) – GSW
Despite falling out of the starting lineup for a little bit, Porter Jr. is right back in there. That’s helping his NBA DFS numbers as he’s logging more minutes and has cracked double-figure scoring in the last three games. That’s really all you need out of him when it comes to this lineup because his rebound totals and defense are always going to give him a solid baseline.
PF – Tobias Harris ($7,300) – PHI
Harris has put in back-to-back double-doubles in the midst of a four-game stretch that puts him in a top tier of NBA DFS plays. He’s averaging over 45 fantasy points in that span, which is more than Stephen Curry in that same time. Costing $3,000 less than Curry and playing the soft Lakers’ defense – Harris is a must roster for all lineups.
C – Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,200) – MIN
Karl-Anthony Towns isn’t even as hot as Harris right now, but he is the big-ticket item I’m snagging for this NBA DFS lineup. He’s one of the most dependable players out there. You can get booms up in the 60s, but you’re rarely going to get a fantasy bust from him. He’s only failed to hit the 40-point fantasy mark once since the beginning of December.
G – Malik Monk ($4,500) – LAL
At the very beginning of January, Monk had a string of games that made him look like everybody should be jumping on him. He went for 40+ fantasy points in three of four games. He cooled quickly and has stayed down on Earth – until Tuesday night. Monk exploded for 22 points on six three-pointers – leveling out a total of 36.3 fantasy points. Could this be a second big wave for Monk? At $4,500, I’m willing to find out.
F – Jarred Vanderbilt ($5,500) – MIN
Vanderbilt’s NBA DFS cost is one that is easy to pick up thanks to the fact that he’s averaging a double-double over the last three games. It’s been over a week since he failed to get 30 fantasy points, which would make his cost for tonight minuscule.
UTIL – Patrick Beverley ($4,200) – MIN
Beverley has a questionable designation, so he’s one we’ll have to keep a close eye on as NBA DFS lineups lock. His ankle has been bad, but Coach Chris Finch seemed positive that Thursday was the day. If he is back he’d only have to put in a fraction of what he was before he went out hurt in order to make this risk pay off.
