Madden MAYhem Sleepers

Tennessee Titans (+2500)

There’s quite a few reasons why I like the Titans to take the title. They will benefit from an easier division and overall an easier conference. There’s super value at 25 to 1 on them as Tennessee’s defense can run with anyone. Ryan Tannehill isn’t a flashy quarterback but he gets the job done and wins ballgames.

Cleveland Browns (+3000)

Hear me out on this one. Virtual Baker Mayfield is typically much more composed in the pocket and not quite as incompetent. The AFC North should be decided between Baltimore and the Browns. If they can survive the Ravens which they have a great chance of doing, then I could see them running the rest of the script.

Carolina Panthers (+8000)

The Panthers have no business being set at 80 to 1 odds. They may be coming from the stacked NFC and tough South division. However, Christian McCaffrey is almost unstoppable in Madden. Add that to the fact that Carolina has a quarterback which shouldn’t hold them back unlike his predecessor and you have a winning recipe.

Miami Dolphins (+8000)

This is another great value play with good upside. Tua will be under center, and he has an outstanding deep ball with a few good options at receiver. Miami almost has a cake-walk to the quarterfinals as I see them winning their first two games with relative ease. The Dolphins have some extreme sleeper potential.

Detroit Lions (+10000)

I can’t pass up getting the Lions at a 100 to 1 payout. Matthew Stafford is solid and efficient, plus he has two great receivers in Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay. Detroit also has a better-than-average defense which helps their case. It’s a long road ahead, but if I’m playing a long-shot, it’s going to be the Lions.

Madden MAYhem Fades

Dallas Cowboys (+900)

I’m sure most people are aware of this by now, but we here at Sports Gambling Podcast are extremely anti-Dallas. We’re not just fading them out of hatred however. Their Madden offense can be anemic and Dak Prescott’s arm isn’t anything spectacular. They could potentially win a game or two, but the Cowboys won’t win the championship.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+900)

The Buccaneers may have had one of the best offseasons of anyone. However, I don’t believe they will take the title. Gronk has lost weight and he should be out of practice after being M.I.A. for a year. Tampa Bay could potentially even see a first round exit with a tough matchup against Atlanta on the horizon.

Minnesota Vikings (+1800)

Although Madden doesn’t know about Kirk Cousin’s prime-time game struggles, I’m still not on board with Minnesota. The thing about the Vikings that scare the hell out of me is that they aren’t spectacular on either side of the ball. They’ll probably beat the Bears in the first round, but I don’t see them moving any further.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+2500)

The trusty veteran Ben Roethlisberger may be back under center, but that doesn’t make me like the Steelers any more. Big Ben throws a decent amount of interceptions in Madden, and I expect that bug to come back to haunt him. Even if Pittsburgh beats Cleveland, there’s no chance they beat the Ravens given Baltimore beats the Bengals.

Indianapolis Colts (+2800)

This pricing may look tempting with Philip Rivers. Don’t let the change of uniform fool you though. Rivers still suffers from the interception bug and the move was more lateral than anything else in my opinion. Indianapolis has a tough road ahead with an opening match with Tennessee ahead and they could be due for an early exit.
