Sports Gambling Podcast Thanksgiving Table Says Grace

john madden thanksgiving

With the Thanksgiving holiday week upon us, cube monkeys everywhere are rejoicing with the thoughts of a two day work week eager to deal with in-laws and family you can’t really stand all in the name of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, you name it.

One Thanksgiving tradition is going around the table and asking what each person is thankful for. Family, health, and good fortune may be the acceptable answers in that setting, but welcome to Sports Gambling Podcast Thanksgiving table, where things get a little bit different. For the second consecutive year, the Sports Gambling Podcast crew gives thanks to the gambling gods.

Christian Pina

Dear Gambling gods,

I’d like to personally thank you for letting Nathan Peterman actually be a starting quarterback in the National Football League for as long as you did, that was one of your best jobs to date. On top of that, I’d like to give thanks for The Boston Red Sox bringing yet another championship to Boston after what happened with you know, that whole Patriots Super Bowl thing. I’d also like to thank you for having The Golden Knights make it all the way to the Stanley Cup as they moved to town the same time I did. I know you didn’t do that one just for me, but it sure felt like it. You could have let me cash that whole 500-1 thing on them winning that series, but we’re splitting hairs at this point.

I give thanks that you continue to let the Golden State Warriors be only a -200 favorite to win the NBA playoffs every season while you let Lebron to win the East actually stay at plus money, Oklahoma State Overs, and obviously MACtion on Tuesday nights

I’d like to thank you for backdoor covers, Dak Prescott’s under passing yards props, and first five-inning unders. I ask for prosperity in betting against The Browns, The Jets, and of course any AFC East matchup that includes The Patriots.

PS: That whole betting on soccer at 9 am in the World Cup was one of your best jobs yet.

Sean Green

I’m still thankful that I won $200,000 in Draft Kings. If you think I’m going to stop mentioning that every I opportunity I have then you’re crazy. All joking aside I’ve extremely thankful the Eagles defeated the Patriots and became Super Bowl 52 Champions. I’m also thankful that Nick Foles undeniably had a better game than Tom Brady. I’m also extremely thankful for the boat trip music drop, playing that when discussing the Giants is truly one of my great joys in life.

I’m also thankful for how nice the Baby Whale T-shirt came out, man that’s some good merch. I’d be even more thankful if you degenerates decided to pony up and buy some. These blogs and podcasts don’t grow on trees! Lastly, I’m thankful for the Fox NFL music track every time that sweet library track hits my ears I’m ready to yell about some fucking National League Football!

Dear Turkey Bowl gods,

I’m so very thankful for the very creation of the sandwich. It’s all you ever really need in life. It’s something that often gets overshadowed on Thanksgiving but is just as fulfilling as turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. I’m also very thankful for the turkey sandwich that I’m going to eat on Thanksgiving and for any fans that have bought me a sandwich or alcohol. Let’s keep that going.

Now if I may, these are the things I’m even more thankful for. The meat of the sandwich if you catch my drift. I’m thankful for Loyola (Chicago) basketball for winning me tons of dollars, Patty C’s burrito story and the Central Florida Golden Knights being the 2017 National Champions. I’m thankful for Bernie Lomax aka Bill Snyder for never giving up, Mike Leach press conferences and Arizona hiring Kevin Sumlin. I’m thankful for Caesars Palace not throwing me out of their sportsbook for yelling at an old woman. I’m somewhat thankful for people thinking I’m Casey Affleck. Free drinks are free drinks no matter how you cut it. I’m also thankful for Jessica Alba for being patient and understanding that we shall get together some other day in the future. Last but not least I’m thankful for Bobby Petrino showing up to that press conference at Arkansas some years back after crashing his motorcycle.

Being British, we don’t give thanks for anything. We have cold weather, inflated house prices and destroyed our own economy by voting for Brexit under the guise of democracy, however, at least we didn’t destroy the world by voting for Trump, so I guess I should be thankful for that.

I’m thankful that I’m able to open the eyes of the SGP audience to real football, rather than Rugby in helmets. I’m thankful that not a sport in the world can beat the excitement of the EPL. I’m thankful that despite being a clueless tea drinking Brit, I’m still gonna smoke great American Handicappers, like Sean, Ryan, and Pina at their own sport. I’m thankful that Ryan Kramer finally landed a lock. I was starting to think MyBookie were paying him a commission to lose. I’m thankful that I’m not a woman married to Sean Green, a guy who won $200,000 on Fantasy Football but still wouldn’t take his fiancée to London to watch his one-year wonders play at Wembley.

I’m thankful to Twitter for their excellent and logical community standards. I fully agree with their decision to remove me for sexist comments, whilst terrorist groups and Donald Trump roam free. I fully respect their policy to prioritize the vital issues first. The world can be blown up to shit, but we must make sure we don’t offend any transgender people along the way. And finally, I’m thankful for my Locks and should you be. 35-8 for the season so far with plenty more to come. I like to finish everything I do with a lock, so here I go. As this is all about thanks, you can thank me for this one in February. Bet the Saints for the SuperBowl, and enjoy the free money.

Thanks for listening to my show, Billi out!

Ryan Kramer

Its been a trying year for ole Uncle Ryan, and much like our friend from across the pond, I’m not sure if there is much to give thanks to. I mean the Red Sox just won another World Series, I can no longer hold 0 Super Bowls over Sean’s head and dare we discuss the dumpster fire that my Giants have become.

But I’ll tell you what, I am thankful. I’m thankful that I can share my love of props with you. I’m thankful for the Close Your Eye’s Special, Sister Mary, and hedging. I’m thankful for March Madness in Vegas, 1H parlays and a little thing called the pleaser. I’m thankful your willing to donate your hard earned money to me via Draft Kings and I’m most thankful for you, the listener, the reader, for supporting the Sports Gambling Podcast. Let it Ride with you and yours.
