Cavaliers Solid NBA Betting Favorites Hosting Celtics For Game 6

Cavaliers Solid NBA Betting Favorites

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be looking to avoid postseason elimination on Friday night when they play host to the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Finals clash as 7-point favorites on the NBA odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Cleveland missed a golden opportunity to seize the series lead on Wednesday, dropping a 96-83 decision in Boston as a 1.5-point underdog, and now trails 3-2 going into Friday night’s game at Quicken Loans Arena.

The home team has dominated in each of the first five games of the series, posting wins by nine or more points in each of those contests, including Games 3 and 4 in Cleveland in which the Cavaliers cruised to victory by an average margin of 19.5 points.

Lopsided playoff wins over Boston are nothing new to the Cavaliers, who have defeated the Celtics by 30 or more points in three of nine playoff meetings since last spring, with a 116-86 rout in Game 3 as 6.5-point chalk representing their most dominating victory of this series.

And the Cavaliers’ home success has not been limited to recent dates with Boston.

Cleveland is unbeaten straight up in seven outings at Quicken Loans Arena, covering the spread in each of its past three. The Cavaliers are also 15-2 SU in their last 17 home dates overall, but continue to trail on the NBA playoffs series prices as +164 underdogs, and sit well back of the pack on the NBA championship odds at +1400.

For the Celtics, an outright victory on Friday night would send them to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010. With Wednesday night’s victory, Boston is now set as a -184 favorite to deny the Cavaliers a fourth straight trip to the NBA Finals on the NBA series prices.

However, like Cleveland, the Celtics have struggled on the road during the postseason, going 1-6 SU, including four defeats by double-digit margins.

Boston has also struggled in recent trips to the shores of Lake Erie, going 1-7 SU while failing to reach 100 points in three of their past four road dates with the Cavaliers. The Celtics are also a worrisome 11-15 SU in their past 26 games when poised to claim a playoff series victory since winning their last NBA title in 2008.
