The Upset Factory: College Football Upset Parlay Week 9

The Upset Factory: College Football Upset Parlay Week 9

Are you not entertained yet by the chaos of the 2026 College Football season? Upset after upset, big team after big team going down. It feels like Oprah Winfrey is here and just handing out upsets. You get an upset, you get an upset, everyone gets an upset! It’s been absolutely glorious, and now it’s time to take a look at Week 9 of College Football action and build an upset parlay.

MYBOOKIE BONUS

Last week, the West Virginia Mountaineers, one of the darlings of this article as a repeat winner for us, cashed as an almost 3/1 underdog. Unfortunately, the Mississippi schools couldn’t close out the parlay, but it’s another reminder to just play each team on the Moneyline as well. Let’s try and hit this week’s parlay. It’ll start off with a little chihuahua, a small dog. But ends with a big dog barking strong.

Kansas State (+105)

As I said, we’re starting with a small dog, but it’s the perfect first leg as we build up this upset parlay. We’ll call this one the injury bowl, as Colorado looks to be without starting quarterback Julian Lewis, among others. The Wildcats will also be without quarterback Avery Johnson, as well as backup Jacob Kunth. Colorado native Blake Barnett could get the nod for Kansas State, a nice spot to shine in his home state. Colorado’s backup Issac Wilson hasn’t looked good in his playing time this year.

While there is a lot of unknown for the Wildcats at quarterback, I actually like that more than I like Wilson for Colorado. The Buffaloes are also missing multiple wide receivers, a running back, and quite a few others. Kansas State gets the edge on defense, in the trenches, on special teams, and when it comes to coaching. Those will be the difference as the Wildcats hand the Buffaloes another loss in a lost season.

Purdue Boilermakers (+285)

Purdue struck gold for us back in Week 5 as a +285 underdog hit in this article as they defeated the Illinois Illini. This week, they are +285 underdogs once again. The challenge might be a little tougher this time as they head to State College, Pennsylvania, to take on the Nittany Lions. However, these aren’t your father’s Nittany Lions. Penn State is 0-4 in Big Ten play this season. While they’ve kept some games close, they haven’t been able to close out. Now, they get a Purdue team that isn’t to the level of the teams they’ve played, but as we’ve seen, the Boilermakers are a tough out.

Purdue has had their ups and downs, but their ups are why we like the money line bet here. Purdue wants to slow this game down and grind the ball with their playmakers on offense. On defense, the key will be getting Rocco Becht to make the mistakes he made against Michigan, where he turned the ball over. Don’t ever count these Boilermakers out.

North Carolina (+480)

You wanted a big dog? Fine, you get a big dog. As a New England Patriots fan, it brings me great pleasure how many times we’ve not only played Bill Belichick and his Tar Heels as underdogs, but also how many times they’ve come through for us. All the way back to Week 0 in Ireland against TCU. Now, they host the #1 team in the country, the Miami Hurricanes. It’s a big advantage to have this game at home in Chapel Hill and the friendly confines of Kenan Stadium.

We’ve seen the top teams go down at a crazy rate this season. Ohio State was #1 when they lost to Texas. Texas was ranked #1 when Oklahoma beat them. Georgia was #1 when Auburn took them down. BYU, as the #2 team last week, lost to UCF. Now it’s a Saturday night in Chapel Hill, with the greatest football coach of all time on one sideline on Halloween night?

Miami is just 3-8 at Chapel Hill. Carolina is one of the most disciplined teams in the country, with just 4.0 penalties for 31.7 yards per game, third best in the nation. Miami has yet to be tested this year, and they have a road trip to #5 Notre Dame on deck. This is a great spot for Bill Belichick to pull out all his tricks and spook the #1 team in the nation under the lights at home.

Kansas State + Colorado + North Carolina Parlay (+4478)
