After a brief stop at home (aka the Meta APEX), the UFC octagon is going to be an international traveller for the next two weeks. This coming weekend, the promotion is in Edmonton; the week after, in Abu Dhabi. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Edmonton, I’ve got your winner for the main event. Let’s go!

MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Edmonton
UFC Fight Night: Buckley vs Malott (aka UFC Edmonton)
Main Card Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Welterweights take center stage this weekend in Edmonton, with Canadian Mike Malott up against Joaquin Buckley. Now that Malott has proven himself as an above-average fighter on the UFC stage, the promotion likes to save him for their Canadian fight cards, with the Burlington, Ontario native fighting his last six fights on home soil.
And I like Malott to send the fans home happy on Saturday. While you can’t argue with Buckley’s fight-ending power, you can pick large holes in his wrestling defense, as he’s been taken down eight times in his past two fights. I like Malott’s technical striking approach, with some wrestling and grappling thrown in, to carry him to victory.
UFC Edmonton Main Card Pick: Mike Malott ML (-122)
