Daily Dingers for Thursday (July 16th): Best & Most Fun Home Run Bets

New York Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Just like the MLB, which is easing back into action with only one game tomorrow (and at the site of the All-Star Game, at that), I’m easing back into my home run bets. I’m grabbing the low-hanging fruit, swinging at the big meatball thrown down the heart of the plate.

For the visiting New York Mets, that player would of course be Juan Soto, who leads the team with 21 home runs. But there are plenty of reasons to like Soto in this spot – he’s a left-handed hitter, and Citizens Bank Park is the most homer-friendly park in baseball for lefties, plus Soto has taken tomorrow’s pitcher, Aaron Nola, deep three times in his career.

As for the home side, the Philadelphia Phillies, obviously I’m going with the majors leading home run swatter, Kyle Schwarber, who has 32 long flies this season and is a left-handed hitter batting at home.
