MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC 329
UFC 329: McGregor vs Holloway 2
Main Card Start Time: 9:00 PM EST
Max Holloway is going to beat Conor McGregor on Saturday night in their rematch, and it probably won’t even be close. After brutally breaking his leg in his last fight five years ago, McGregor returns as an almost-38-year-old (his birthday is the Tuesday after fight night). The former double champ won’t be able to keep up with the striking pace that Holloway is going to put on him.
It’s not just the ring rust that will be an issue. No fighter has come back from a broken leg and looked the same (see Anderson Silva or Chris Weidman). Does the Irishman have a puncher’s chance? Sure, especially at welterweight. But the line we’re getting on him isn’t indicative of his puncher’s chance of winning.
