This week is a bit different, with the July 4th holiday next weekend shutting down the American MMA world. But we still have Europe. MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: Cage Warriors
Cage Warriors 209: Newcastle
Start Time: Noon EST
Former long-time Cage Warriors Lightweight Champion George Hardwick is about as hard a matchup as you’ll get in the promotion, despite him dropping two of his last three. Facing him in the main event in your promotional debut ramps the difficulty level up even higher. Doing all of this on short notice (about a week) is next to impossible.
That is what Nicolas Salvio will be facing this coming weekend in Newcastle. Having not competed outside of the Brazilian regional scene, Salvio should pose no challenge to the former champ. Whether or not we get a playable line for this fight will definitely pose a challenge, however.
