While one second-round series in the NHL’s Stanley Cup Playoffs is already in the books, it looks like we’re in for the long haul for the other three (or at least two of them). Best Bet For Tuesday (May 12th): NHL Playoffs Predictions
Anaheim Ducks vs Vegas Golden Knights
Start Time: 9:30 PM EST
At the very least, this Western Conference Second Round series between the Anaheim Ducks and the Vegas Golden Knights is going six games after the Ducks basically saved their season by squeaking out a Game 4 win in front of their home fans. Now tied 2-2, the series shifts back to the desert tomorrow night for Game 5.
It’s telling that despite this now being a best-of-three series, the Golden Knights are still the prohibitive favorite to win and advance. This also despite their captain, Mark Stone, missing Game 4 with a “lower body injury”. His status is listed as day-to-day.
Vegas is still the favorite because not only are they the better, more experienced team, but they have two more home games if needed. The Ducks are such a poor road team (19-20-2 in the regular season, 2-2 in the playoffs) that it’s going to be a big hill to climb to get two more wins.
The Golden Knights on the moneyline is my best bet for Tuesday.
