The UFC may be in its ‘offseason’ and has closed up shop until the end of the month, but that doesn’t mean the MMA world has gone completely dark. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: LFA 224, I’ve got a massive dog in a women’s strawweight fight. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: LFA 224
LFA 224: ADAMS VS BILALOV
Start Time: 7:30 PM EST Friday
Go big or go home is the motto this week with my underdog pick, and as mentioned above, I’ve got a big one. In a women’s strawweight bout between Brazilians GiGi Canuto and Janaina Silva, I’m going with the +900 Silva.
Silva has back-to-back losses, but they were both against very high-level competition – Eduarda Moura on DWCS and LFA champion Aieza Ramos Bertolso. But, more importantly, Silva is the better and more dangerous striker in this matchup, as Canuto is still mostly a grappler at this point in her career. Silva should be able to push the pace on the feet and make it difficult for Canuto to initiate her grappling. All this makes Silva a nice live dog for us.
