MMA Parlay of the Week: RIZIN NYE
Start Time: Tuesday (12/30) 11:00pm EST (Internet PPV)
New Year’s Eve in MMA is a thing of beauty and we have some beautiful lines to play here.
The first of those lines I like is in the flyweight title fight. Hiromasa Ougikubo finds himself a -200 favorite for the vacant title as he faces Yuki Motoya. While Motoya is a formidable challenger, I simply love the pressure that Ougikubo brings. He puts his opponents on the back foot and wears them down with a combination of that pressure and clinch work. Motoya works best when he can move forward and is the better wrestler – neither of which will be the case here.
I’ll pair that favorites line on Ougikubo with another favorite in American Danny Sabatello. Despite being the challenger, Sabatello finds himself a -141 favorite to take away Naoki Inoue’s bantamweight belt. I think those odds are a steal as, once again, I’m tailing the wrestler. Sabatello only had issues in Bellator when he couldn’t manhandle his opponent in the wrestling department. While Inoue’s length might give him trouble early, I expect the takedowns to be the big difference maker in the long run.
If we take those two decent favorites and pair them together, we’re going to get a good looking underdog line for the holidays.
