MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Perth
UFC FIGHT NIGHT: ULBERG VS REYES (AKA UFC PERTH)
Main Card Start Time: 10:00 PM EST – (ESPN+)
New Zealander Carlos Ulberg will probably get the ‘hometown’ bump in the main event, facing American Dominick Reyes in a light heavyweight fight. A win for either man could put them in the conversation for a shot at gold very soon.
After going winless (0-4) from late 2019 to mid-2024, with the last three losses coming via TKO, I justifiably wrote Reyes off. Since then, he’s improbably won three straight fights, all via TKO. However, there are levels to this game, and none of his vanquished opponents are on Ulberg’s level. The kickboxer will batter Reyes on the feet, and I think he has a good shot at knocking him out.
