For the second week in a row, Jonathan James McCarthy will take the primetime spotlight at the helm of the Vikings offensive ship. The young quarterback will make his home debut under the lights of U.S. Bank Stadium. He and his team aim to improve to 2-0 on the young season at the expense of the winless Falcons. It was a tale of two halves for the Vikings as they stumbled out of the blocks against the Chicago Bears last Monday night. Minnesota fell behind 17-6 heading into the 4th quarter and seemingly little in the way of hopes for a comeback. However, the defense had managed to slow down Bears quarterback Caleb Williams after an impressive first half which paved the way for an epic comeback from J.J. McCarthy and the Vikings offense. Minnesota put up 21 points in the final frame to come away with a 27-24 victory in the Windy City.
The Falcons were a missed field goal away from a potential Week 1 upset against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. Atlanta kept things close all day and finally grabbed a 20-17 lead midway through the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, they gave it back the very next drive allowing Baker Mayfield to connect with rookie wideout Emeka Egbuka for his second touchdown with just under a minute left on the clock. Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. guided his team into field goal range with six ticks left in the game. Sadly, Younghoe Koo was unable to tie the game. Koo has been sent to the bench and replaced by Parker Romo this week.

The former 49er was known for his explosive running last year, ripping off a run of at least 16 yards in 9 of his 12 appearances with San Francisco. He will face an Atlanta defense that is allowing 4.4 yards per attempt on the young season.
Bijan Robinson Under 27.5 Receiving Yards (-116 via DRAFTKINGS)
Robinson hauled in 6 passes for 100 receiving yards last week against the Buccaneers. However, that total is deceiving given half of that was obtained on one reception. Even with his Week 1 outburst, the young back is still only averaging 29.1 receiving yards per game in his career. He failed to reach this mark in five straight games to end his 2024 campaign. The Vikings allowed only 210 passing yards against Chicago last week, it will be tough for Robinson to repeat his Week 1 performance again this week.
