Two AFC East teams look to rebound after a Week 1 loss as the Patriots and the Dolphins meet this week in Miami. Both teams sit at the bottom of the division and neither had an impressive outing in the season openers. It’s hard to pick a favorite in this one and the books agree giving the Dolphins a slight edge at home. Get your cards ready with our New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins Preview and Predictions.
New England has been in rebuild mode since Tom Brady left them after the 2019 season. This year is no different and it showed in its 20-13 loss against the new-look Las Vegas Raiders. The Patriots did see solid production from Drake Maye under center though. The young quarterback completed 30 of his 46 pass attempts for 287 yards and a touchdown. However, their defense allowed newly minted Raiders quarterback Geno Smith to throw for 362 yards and a touchdown.
As they do every season, the Dolphins headed into Week 1 with a talented squad set on winning it all. However, that did not work out very well against a much improved Indianapolis Colts team last week. Miami could not get their offensive stars going and its defense had no answer for the Indianapolis offense. Tua Tagovailoa completed just 14 of his 23 pass attempts for 114 yards and a touchdown. The speedy Tyreek Hill ended the day with only 4 catches for 40 yards. It may actually not be too early to hit the panic button in Miami if they can not find a way to avoid an 0-2 start this week.

Kayshon Boutte Over 41.5 Receiving Yards (-114 via DRAFTKINGS)
Boutte enjoyed a solid outing last week against the Raiders. The third-year receiver caught 6 of his 8 targets for 103 yards leading all New England pass catchers on the day. He was tied with tight end Hunter Henry for the most targets on the team. He even outperformed veteran Stefon Diggs who accumulated only 57 receiving yards in his debut with the Patriots.
Kayshon Boutte is the next Nico Collins:
His stats in his last 4 games:
– 5 receptions, 95 yards, TD
– 4 receptions, 28 yards
– 7 receptions, 117 yards, TD
– 6 receptions, 103 yards— Polymarket Football (@PolymarketBlitz) September 12, 2025
This is not a one off performance from Boutte as the young pass catcher put together six games last season with at least 42 receiving yards. He ended last year with a 117 yard outing against the Buffalo Bills. This week, he faces a Miami defense that allowed two wideouts to cash this prop.
Miami -1.5 (-110 via DRAFTKINGS)
Miami may be getting the home bump here, but this should be a great spot to pick up a win if it is able to repeat history. The Dolphins have four straight wins against the Patriots going back to the 2023 season. Overall, Miami has claimed victory in eight of its last ten contests against New England. The Dolphins have covered the spread in every game they won in that span as well.
