We only have one game on the WNBA slate tomorrow, but the good news is it’s a 2024 WNBA championship rematch between the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx. The bad news – the franchise players for each team will be on the sidelines. Here are your WNBA predictions and preview for Saturday, August 16th.

New York Liberty vs Minnesota Lynx

Start Time: 2:00 PM EST

There will definitely be no Breanna Stewart on the court for the New York Liberty tomorrow as she continues to heal from a knee injury (she’s expected back end of the month). And while the Minnesota Lynx’s Napheesa Collier has been upgraded to doubtful for tomorrow, she is expected to still be out of action due to her bum ankle.

The top team in the league, the Lynx, improbably haven’t really missed a beat without MVP candidate Collier on the floor, winning five straight and nine of their last 10. The Liberty, however, has relinquished its status as the league’s #2 team, going 4-5 in Stewart’s absence.

The most important factor tomorrow, though, is where the game is being played – the Target Center in Minneapolis. The Lynx are 16-1 on their home floor this season. My line for tomorrow is Minnesota -9, so the Lynx on the spread is my play.
