San Francisco Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks
Start Time: 9:40 PM EST
Entering Wednesday, the Giants were on an ugly skid. They had lost four straight and seven of their last eight games. However, they got that monkey off their back on Wednesday with an extra inning win over the Diamondbacks. Even though they’ve been struggling a bit, I’m doubling down on a win today.
A lot of this has to do with the pitching matchup. Robbie Ray has been lights out as of late for the Giants. He enters the game with a 2.75 ERA and 110 strikeouts in just 98.1 innings. Even during the game he pitched during this skid, he went 6.0 strong, only allowing one earned run. He faced the Diamondbacks back in May and picked up the win along with a season-high nine strikeouts.
To make things better for the Giants, they’ll face Brandon Pfaadt, who is unlikely to keep up with Ray. He enters the games with a 5.28 ERA and has been even worse lately. In his last five games (23.0 innings), he’s allowed 16 runs – which comes out to a 6.26 ERA. The Giants should find enough runs in this one to support Ray.
