Best Bet for Wednesday (Oct 28th): NHL Predictions
Calgary Flames vs Edmonton Oilers
Start Time: 8:30 PM EST
A short slate of games in the NHL tomorrow, made worse by wide odds for the majority of the games, leaves us with a less-than-ideal moneyline play for my best bet for Wednesday. But a win is a win, and cash in is better than cash out.
We’ve got another edition of the Battle of Alberta tomorrow, as the Edmonton Oilers welcome provincial (and Pacific Division) rivals the Calgary Flames to town for the teams’ first meeting of the season. The Oilers sit atop the Pacific with an 8-2-2 record, but look out for the red-hot Flames, winners of four straight.
However, all four of those games were at home, and the Flames are crummy away from Calgary, going 1-3-0 on the road this season. Calgary also gives up the third-most goals per game in the NHL, which is bad news considering Edmonton is the league’s top offense, with Connor McDavid averaging almost three points per game.
Despite the wide odds, Edmonton on the moneyline is still good value and my best bet for Wednesday.
