The hot streak continued early on Thursday as the Rays and Guardians gave us a quiet start to the game for an NRFI. Then we finished off the sweep with the Dodgers and Brewers getting us a second. Now, we have some NRFI and YRFI picks for October 15.

MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 16th
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Cleveland Guardians
First Pitch – 8:00 pm EST
Progressive Field – Cleveland, OH
Broadcast – TBS
After sweeping the board with a couple of NRFI plays on Thursday, we’re getting back into some YRFI action on Friday. Some of that is thanks to the fact that the Guardians will be using an opener for Game 4. Shawn Armstrong gets the nod for Cleveland. While he’s been good in the playoffs so far, he had a rough go of it in the regular season. He posted a 4.58 ERA largely thanks to an atrocious June and July, which ended with a freak calf tear. Tampa Bay’s lineup hasn’t been tearing the cover off of the ball or anything, but this could help to jump start it.
Even if the Rays don’t manage to put one across in the opening frame, I have faith that the Guardians will. Nick Martinez will get just his second start in the last three weeks. The other didn’t particularly go as planned either. The slumping Yankees hung two runs on him in just 3.2 innings of work. They also racked up five hits and a walk to keep traffic fairly consistent. With as good as the Guardians have been hitting and with the layoff, I like them to score a run here.
