Best Bet for Thursday (Oct 15th): NHL Predictions
St. Louis Blues vs Minnesota Wild
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
I’ve zeroed in on some Central Division action for my best bet on Thursday, as the 3-2-1, fifth-place St. Louis Blues visit the 4-2-1, fourth-place Minnesota Wild. This is the first of three regular-season meetings between the divisional rivals this season, with both of the teams winning two of their last three games heading into tomorrow night.
The Wild continue to play good hockey despite a glut of injuries, most notably to their blueline and to their #1 goaltender, Filip Gustavsson. But youngster Jesper Wallstedt has proven more than up to the task, ranking in the top 10 in the league in goals against and save percentage.
The Blues enter this game banged up as well, and they are nowhere near the quality of team that the Wild are (Minnesota was projected for 16 more points than St. Louis heading into this season). The talent gap, plus the home ice advantage, should make the Wild around a 63% favorite to win tomorrow, so I’ll gladly take them on the moneyline as my best bet.
