We had the YRFI for Game 2 of the National League Championship Series and it hit with ease. Not only did we get a first inning run, but both teams scored in the first. Now, we have some NRFI and YRFI picks for October 13.

MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 13th
Cleveland Guardians vs. Tampa Bay Rays
First Pitch – 8:00 pm EST
Tropicana Field – St. Petersburg, FL
Broadcast – TBS
The Guardians have first ups here and, although they broke out the bats in Game 1, we still like the NRFI. A big part of that is that they really didn’t get their rallies started until late in the game. Freddy Peralta gets the ball for the Rays to try to keep them quiet early. He has just one start this postseason, but looked particularly good early on. He retired the Yankees in order in each of the first three innings and did not see a single baserunner. With the Guardians being a bottom third team in terms of run scoring, I expect he should breeze through this one too.
The Rays scored just three times in the opener of the series and had long bouts of inactivity at the dish. Additionally, Rookie of the Year contender Parker Messick will be on the bump. He has been a little bit less effective as he’s neared 200 innings on the year, but he’s still razor sharp the first time through the order. Both of his playoff outings have seen him run through the lineup once without much concern and he should do so again here.
