Toronto Maple Leafs vs Utah Mammoth
Start Time: 9:00 PM EST
We’ve got an East vs. West, an Original Six vs. a nascent franchise matchup tomorrow in Salt Lake, with the Toronto Maple Leafs visiting the Utah Mammoth. The Leafs 3-2-1 record and seven points are only good for fourth place in the competitive Atlantic Division, while the Mammoth’s 4-2-0 record and eight points have them atop the Central Division standings.
Both teams were projected for about the same level of performance this season, so it makes sense that they’re both out of the gate with similar records. Tomorrow night marks the first night of a road back-to-back for Toronto, and they’ll be without one of their top defensemen, Chris Tanev, who has been placed on the injury list with an upper-body injury.
I’m going with the home side in this one, the Mammoth. They’re healthier, have the home-ice advantage, and the analytics sites have them as a 60% favorite to win on Tuesday night. So let’s make Utah on the moneyline my best bet for tomorrow.
