College Football Pick Of The Day (October 11th): NCAA Week 7 Spread Pick

For today’s college football pick for Week 7, I’m locking in on a late-night Big 12 matchup that has the look of a team that can pull away. Number 11 Utah heads to Folsom Field to take on Colorado. The Utes are a 15.5-point favorite ina game that kicks off at 10:15 PM ET.

Utah comes in at 5-0 overall and a perfect 5-0 against the spread. They’ve been efficient and physical on both sides of the ball. They have averaged 42.8 points per game, which is sixth in FBS, and allowed just 13. Their offense is pretty balanced. Devon Dampier has thrown for 1,134 yards and 12 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Meanwhile, the ground game is producing around 230 rushing yards per game. On defense, they’ve been stout against the run and very good on third downs.

Colorado is 2-3 and just 1-4 against the spread. The Buffaloes are coming off a bye after a 29-7 home loss to Texas Tech. They’ve struggled to score consistently and have been leaky on defense. Turnovers and penalties have also been issues. Last season, Utah dominated this game in a 53-7 win. This year, the Utes have an even better roster and more consistent execution.

It may feel like a trap given the Buffaloes are coming off the bye week. However, I think Deion Sanders has lost this team. Utah has covered as a double-digit favorite multiple times so far this season. Colorado may have the home-field advantage, but the talent gap is significant. Look for Utah to control the line of scrimmage and separate early in this one.

The Pick: Utah -15.5
