#1 Tampa Bay Rays vs #4 New York Yankees
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
One of those aforementioned teams fighting for their playoff lives tomorrow is, surprisingly, the New York Yankees. The top seed sweeping the #4 seed shouldn’t be a shock; however, the Yankees were the betting favorites heading into this American League Division Series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
But I say put the brooms away – New York is winning Game 3. Expecting the Yankees’ bats to stay silent, as they’ve been in the first two games, especially at home, isn’t a wise bet. While Tampa Bay’s starter Nick Martinez has had a great season, Wednesday marks his first postseason start, and it couldn’t come in a more hostile environment. With Max Fried on the mound, a defense that is surely (you’d hope, at least) not going to lose another game single-handedly, and the home field advantage, I like the Yankees to at least survive to see a Game 4.
