MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 122
UFC Fight Night: Allen vs Duncan (aka UFC Vegas 122)
Main Card Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Saturday’s top fight is between #5-ranked Brendan Allen and #10-ranked Christian Leroy Duncan. This should be your classic “striker vs grappler” matchup, with the American Allen doing the grappling and the Brit, Duncan, handling the striking end of things.
I’m going to swerve from my normal betting strategy, and I’m backing the grappler. CLD has been taken down in four straight fights, including five times in his last bout. While he won those fights, the difference on Saturday should be that Allen is a far better grappler than anyone Duncan has faced before, and when he takes him down, he won’t let him back up again.
