#4 New York Yankees vs #1 Tampa Bay Rays
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
The top team in the American League this season, the Tampa Bay Rays, took care of business on their home field in Game 1 of the Division Series, eking out a 1-0 victory over the visiting New York Yankees behind an eight-inning one-hitter from starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen. Now the Yankees look to do the same in Monday’s Game 2.
And I expect New York to do just that. Not only because my pre-series bet was for the Rays to win Game 1 and the Yankees to win the series, but mostly because of who is starting for the visitors tomorrow, Cam Schlittler. A 99% favorite to win the AL Cy Young Award this season, Schlittler is the league’s best pitcher, and he showed as much in his last two outings against Tampa Bay this season, allowing only two earned runs in 11 innings, with 13 strikeouts.
Schlittler has his Rasmussen moment tomorrow, the Yankees win, and we cash our best bet on New York on the moneyline.
