Colby made the case first: Western Kentucky is 1-3, but that record came against a brutal non-conference slate that included road trips to Nevada, Georgia, and Indiana. He thinks Western Kentucky is simply the better team and wins outright, called the number contest-worthy, and said coach Helton normally does a pretty good job with this group. New Mexico State is also coming off a rivalry loss.
Sean was right there with him. Both teams are 1-3 with their only win over Mercyhurst, he said, and he trusts Helton and the Western Kentucky program more, so he didn’t see how you lay 2.5 with New Mexico State. Ryan agreed on one rule of thumb: take the two and a half, never lay it. They debated whether Las Cruces’ elevation would be enough of a factor to change that, but neither wanted to give up the points.
