NFL Week 3 Recap & MLB WC Series Bombs! Recap
CJ Sullivan (@CJSullivan_) runs the NFL Week 3 recap solo, and the Circa Millions card finally moved forward at 2-2-1 behind Jacksonville and Pittsburgh. Luke the Young Sharp got Surviving CJ through on the Lions, though it took a late Geno Smith fumble to get there. After that it’s Eagles and Bears on Monday night, with Case Keenum at quarterback for Chicago. Then CJ closes on two MLB Wild Card Series bombs.

The NFL Week 3 Recap Card Goes 2-2-1
The card went 1-4 in Week 1 and 2-3 in Week 2, so 2-2-1 counts as progress. Jacksonville was the easy one, 35-6 over the Patriots. Drake Maye now has seven turnovers through three games. Per Mike Sando, that is four fewer than he had all of last year. Still, nobody is benching him with Tommy DeVito as the backup. Meanwhile the Jaguars had the strangest moment. Trevor Lawrence was running in for a score with eight minutes left. Then he slid down at the 1 and stayed there. Even his own teammates looked confused. Pittsburgh was the other cash. CJ took the Steelers plus 3.5 against Cincinnati, and they won outright. Afterward Aaron Rodgers said the offense had been there all along. CJ watched the first two games, so he isn’t buying it.
Tampa Bay lost 23-16 to Minnesota, and neither offense could move. In fact the Vikings won without running a single red zone play. On top of that, Baker Mayfield is out with a dislocated thumb. So CJ’s Bucs division future isn’t looking great, although this is the NFC South. The Rams were the worst beat. They led Denver 16-0 and gave it back. Then an interception that would have ended it got wiped out by pass interference. CJ says it was offensive interference if anything. Now Los Angeles is 1-2 and heads to Philly next week.
Baltimore minus 3 in Brazil pushed at 34-31. Dak Prescott threw a third and goal ball out of bounds with George Pickens open. Instead Dallas settled for the tying field goal. But the touchback left Lamar Jackson seven seconds. He needed one play and a timeout. Then came the 56-yard walk-off field goal. CJ’s fix is simple. Kick it into the landing zone and make them burn some clock.
Surviving CJ Sweats Out The Lions
CJ watched Jets and Lions on his phone on a flight home from Tacoma. Geno Smith was carving up that Detroit defense. If the Jets scored late, they were going for two. Then Geno fumbled. Luke also stayed off the Seattle trap in Washington. The Commanders won outright there and wiped out about 1,200 entries. Across three weeks, only 25 percent of the field is still alive, still more than 6,000 entries. CJ is glad they burned the Lions, because he doesn’t want to count on that defense again. He also had the over in Raiders and Saints, which landed at 35-27. There, Maxx Crosby’s strip of Tyler Shough counted as a fumble. So CJ wants to know what happened to the intent-to-throw rule from the Chase Young play in Week 1.
Eagles And Bears Bombs Plus Wild Card Series Picks
Philadelphia is laying 3.5 in Chicago with a total of 41.5. Caleb Williams is out with the hamstring, so Case Keenum starts. CJ passes on the side and bombs the over. That Bears defense is terrible, and Ben Johnson can still scheme up points. Next is Dontayvion Wicks, who averages 74 yards a game and knows this offense from Green Bay. His ladder starts at 40 yards and climbs to 100 yards at +750. Kalif Raymond averages 62 a game, and his ladder runs from 25 yards to 70 yards at +1260. For touchdowns, CJ likes Jalen Hurts anytime at +150. Colston Loveland is +350 anytime and 17-to-1 to score first. Zach Ertz just signed this week, and he’s +550 anytime and 25-to-1 first.
The MLB Wild Card Series starts Tuesday. The Phillies needed game 162 to get in, and they had to burn Zack Wheeler doing it. That leaves Jesus Luzardo starting Game 1 after not starting since September 7. So CJ is smashing the Braves at -125. Also, the Padres went 18-6 in September and 51-30 at home. They get all three games in San Diego with the better bullpen. That’s why he’s on them at -120 over the Cubs.
