2027 Early NFL Mock Draft – September 2026

Is your team 0-3 already? Maybe you didn’t have high hopes for this season to start with, and your dread has been confirmed. It’s okay! It’s never too late to look to next year. You can soon forget the bums that didn’t perform well and start thinking about the new players your team may get. It’s early, of course. However, let’s take a look at the 2027 early NFL Mock Draft.

2027 Early NFL Mock Draft – September 2026

We don’t know who will and who won’t declare for the NFL draft next year. I also can’t predict which players will start playing better, worse, or anywhere in between. Draft stock will tank for some, rise for others, and stay the same for a handful. Therefore, you know as much as I do that this is a crapshoot. I’m still going to try it, though. The draft order is a projected order based on where teams will finish and will switch back and forth and not be finalized until the end of the year. Here’s a look at my way-too-early 2027 NFL mock draft.

One-Round Mock Draft

1	Dolphins	Arch Manning	QB	Texas
		The Dolphins use their number one pick to take Arch Manning. I'm not yet sure if Manning is as good as the name, but they can't pass up on a prospect that everybody has been wathcing for quite awhile now. I'm not sure it's a tank for Arch, but it is who they take. He'll start rebuilding this offense that has plenty of weapons to choose from.
2	Titans	Leonard Moore	CB	Notre Dame
		There's a lot of directions the Titans could go here. However, I have them taking Leonard Moore, the best cornerback in the draft. Their defense needs a lot of help and Moore is a great start to that.
3	Giants	Colin Simmons	ED	Texas
		If the Giants are here next year, I'll be surprised if they don't trade out for a pick package. With no trades though, I'm going to have them take Colin Simmons out of Texas. He's a bend-and-burst edge rusher who is the best edge rusher in the draft.
4	Cardinals	Dante Moore	QB	Oregon
		Jacoby Brissett is a bridge quarterback. Nothing more. The Cardinals get their franchise guy taking Dante Moore. A true-freshman starter at UCLA, he sat behind Dillon Gabriel at Oregon before taking over and taking Oregon to the CFP semi-final. Now he'll lead the Cardinals.
5	Buccaneers	Jeremiah Smith	WR	Ohio State
		The Bucs run this one up to the commish and make it before any time has even been taken off the draft clock. Potentially the top player in this draft, but there weren't enough receiver-needy teams. Wouldn't be surprised if one of the other teams doesn't go for top need and just takes him as top guy. However, Bucs get him in this Mock Draft and now Smith and Egbuka make life hard for cornerbacks.
6	Chargers	Will Echoles	DT	Ole Miss
		The Chargers have a lot of needs, but I have them taking Will Echoles out of Ole Miss. The 6-3 defensive tackle is one of the most productive interior players in the country. He'll beef up this defensive line immediately.
7	Falcons	Carter Smith	OT	Indiana
		A true left tackle, Carter Smith is probably the best offensive tackle in this draft. If the Falcons give Michael Penix another go, he needs protection. Carter Smith will be a Day 1 starter, and improve this offenisve line.
8	Jets	Trinidad Chambliss	QB	Ole Miss
		Geno Smith is a bridge quarterback. Trinidad Chambliss is a franchise quarterback. He may be slightly undresized, but he has great speed and can throw the ball as good as anybody in this draft. He also takes care of the ball, which is important for a rookie. Trinidad, Kenyon Sadiq, Garrett Wilson, and Breece Hall are a formidable squad.
9	Browns	Trevor Goosby	OT	Texas
		I don't have any idea what the Browns will do at the quarterback position moving forward. Right now it's hard to say, especially since they're on a two-game winning streak. However, their quarterbacks need protection. Trevor Goosby, the 6-7 tackle out of Texas, gives them protection.
10	Panthers	Dylan Stewart	ED	South Carolina
		The Panthers need help on the defensive line and Dylan Stewart gives them that. He's 6-5 and explosive. He gets around the corner quickly and has nice bend. He pressured Texas A&M seven times in a road game recently and will immediately make this defense better.
11	Cowboys	Ellis Robinson IV	CB	Georgia
		So far what we've learned from Dallas is that they still need to improve the defense> Ellis Robinson improves the defense. He's a ball-hawking corner who will generate turnovers for a team that needs them.
12	Texans	Cam Coleman	WR	Texas
		The Texans need alpha receivers outside of Nico Collins. The 6-3 Cam Coleman can be that. He's a traditiounal outside receiver with good speed and great body control. He'll be great opposite Nico or, fill in when Nico's out as the Alpha.
13	Commanders	Jordan Seaton	OT	LSU
		Is Jayden Daniels the guy for Washington? We may never know if he can't stay healthy. However, protection will help him a lot. The Commanders take Jordan Seaton out of LSU. He's a 6-5, 330 pounder with quickness for his size.
14	Jets	Yhonzae Pierre	ED/LB	Alabama
		The Jets got their quarterback, now they get a high motor guy on the defensive side of the ball by taking Yhonzae Pierre out of Alabama. He had 9 sacks last year and multiple strip sacks. He'll continue to perform at a high level and improve this defense, opposite David Bailey.
15	Steelers	Jamari Johnson	TE	Oregon
		The Steelers have Pat Freiermuth, although he is getting older. They take tight end Jamari Johnson who can be a big time playmaker. He has taken over right where Kenyon Sadiq left off, and even doing better in some areas. He's a massive offensive weapon.
16	Patriots	Kade Pieper	G	Iowa
		The Patriots are still trying to figure their offensive line out. They get a huge help by drafting 6-4, 290 pound Kade Pieper out of Iowa. He's an excellent pass blocker and run blocks well too. Iowa lineman can excel at a high level, and Pieper will help this Patriots team get where they want to be.
17	Raiders	Matayo Uiagalelei	ED	Oregon
		The Raiders almost traded Maxx Crosby away last year. Something tells me they do this offseason. They draft Matayo Uiagalelei to try and soften that blow. He's a power pass rusher and has produced at a high level.
18	Saints	David Stone	DT	Oklahoma
		Youll see some people say this is too high for David Stone, others will say too low. The Saints will say it's just right. The defensive tackle was a Top-10 prospect at one point. He's got rare burst for his size and fires off the snap. He'll be a playmaker.
19	Bears	Clev Lubin	ED	Louisville
		The Bears take Clev Lubin. He's not ranked as high as some others in this draft. However, the Bears think he can work opposite Montez Sweat and make a difference. Last year, he had a 24% pass rush win rate. He already has 3 sacks this year and multiple pressures. Dennis Allen will love this guy.
20	Broncos	Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa	LB	Notre Dame
		The Broncos need more from the linebacker position than just Nik Bonnito. Enter Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa out of Notre Dame. The 6-3 linebacker is a do-it all guy. His run defense is some of the best in the nation and he can cover as well.
21	Jets	Cayden Green	OT	Missouri
		The Jets protect their new franchise quarterback with offensive tackle Cayden Green out of Missouri. He was moved to left tackle, but may go back to right for the Jets. Last December, the AP called him a first-team All-SEC despite being moved to left tackle just two weeks before the opener. He has a high football IQ and is a great athlete.
22	Browns	Julian Sayin	QB	Ohio State
		The Browns now decide to switch it up at quarterback and take Julian Sayin with their pick from the Rams for Myles Garrett. He's an athletic quarterback who can make big plays and is playing at a really high level. He has the potential to be the starter right away and help lead this Browns franchise out of the basement.
23	Eagles	KJ Bolden	S	Georgia
		The Eagles get a new safety in 6-0 KJ Bolden out of Georgia. He stepped in for a departed first-rounder and hasn't missed a beat in the strong Georgia defense. His run stopping is as good as his pass coverage, he excels at both.
24	Vikings	CJ Carr	QB	Notre Dame
		The Vikings need a quarterback. Kyler Murray is sitting around 56% completion rate. Carson Wentz isn't the answer. And JJ McCarthy was just traded away for a 5th rounder, despite being a 10th overall pick just two years ago. Enter CJ Carr. He's quietly been performing at a very high level in a pro-Notre Dame offense. I was between him and Drew Mestemaker here, but I think Carr is the more polished product, which Minnesota needs.
25	Bengals	Zabien Brown	CB	Alabama
		The Begnals take cornerback Zabien Brown out of Alabama. He's great in man coverage, and can also act as a strong run-stopper. He's better at run-stopping than most corners are, giving him extra value.
26	Lions	Sammy Brown	LB	Clemson
		The Lions improve their defense by adding linebacker Sammy Brown out of Clemson. He's a downhill runner with rare speed and explosion. He'll be a great run defender against the NFC North teams who run the ball often.
27	Seahawks	Trey-Dez Green	TE	LSU
		Covering this Seahawks team just got harder as they draft Trey-Dez Green, a itght end out of LSU. He's 6-7 and has the ball skills and athleticism to excel. He's a basketball palyer who's going to create so many mismatches, teams will struggle covering Seattle's run game, JSN, and Green.
28	Ravens	Ahmad Hardy	RB	Missouri
		Derrick Henry likely doesn't have many high-performing years left. So the Ravens draft Ahmad Hardy out of Missouri. He's a violent runner who had over 1500 yards and 16 touchdowns last year. He's recovering from a gun-shot wound from the offseason so hasn't played this year. However, when he does, expect him to run even more violently.
29	Jaguars	A.J. Holmes, Jr.	DT	Texas
		The Jaguars beef up their defensive line taking A.J. Holmes out of Texas. The 6-3, 300 pounder is a disruptive interior lineman and has made a living as a strong run defender.
30	Chiefs	Suntarine Perkins	LB/ED	Ole Miss
		The Chiefs take a chess player in linebacker/edge rusher Suntarine Perkins. He's a do-it all player who can line up off ball, on the edge, and even in the slot. His coverage is really good and he's explosive rushing the passer. He's only 210 pounds, which is a little low for an edge rusher. However, the Chiefs will love his versatility.
31	Bills	A'Mauri Washington	DT	Oregon
		The Bills take defensive interior lineman A'Mauri Washington out of Oregon. He's 6-3 and 330 pounds, but moves like a lighter person. He can reset the line against single blocks and take on double teams. He'll be added to an already really good Bills defensive line.
32	49ers	Trevor Lauck	OT	Iowa
		I don’t think Trent Williams has many more seasons left in him, especially as he continues to struggle to stay healthy. The 49ers draft his replacement, offensive tackle Trevor Lauck out of Iowa. In his full first year as a starting tackle last year, he allowed 0 sacks.
