Cleveland Guardians vs Kansas City Royals

I just realized all that preamble was for nothing, because the Cleveland Guardians have already locked up a playoff spot, and the last-place Kansas City Royals won’t be playing past this weekend. However, the American League Central division title is still up for grabs, with the Guardians a game ahead of the Chicago White Sox heading into Friday night.

And Cleveland needs to stay at least a game up on Chicago, because the White Sox hold the tiebreaker over them. With that in mind, they shouldn’t be sending Tanner Bibee out to the mound to start tomorrow in Kansas City. Bibee is one of the top gopher ball pitchers in the game this season, with his 29 homers allowed the seventh-most in the majors. He’s also allowed five or more earned runs in three of his last four starts.

That makes the Kansas City Royals, as a home dog on the moneyline, my best bet for Saturday.
