Football Pick of the Day (September 21st): NFL Week 2 Spread Pick
New York Giants vs Los Angeles Rams
8:15pm – Monday – September 21st
After a successful Week 1 that saw the Giants dominate the Cowboys, New York heads to the West coast for more primetime action. The Rams play host to Jaxson Dart and gang, but they’ll be notably short staffed. That fact has dropped the line from 8.5-points all the way down to 6.5-points.
We all knew that the Rams would be without Myles Garrett after placing him on the IR following their first game. That’s good news for a New York squad that rushed for 165 yards in Week 1 – led by Cam Skattebo’s 81. While Aaron Donald will be back in action, even he has noted that he’ll be rusty. He wasn’t ready to go for their first game and is likely pushing the timeline along due to the missing piece. With Patrick Richard still leading the way, the Giants should be able to keep the pressure up on that side.
On the other side of the ball, the Rams are likely to be without star wideout Puka Nacua, who is reportedly trending in the wrong direction. Even if he is able to go, his hip injury is unlikely to have him looking like his usual self. Jordan Whittington is also doubtful for tonight. That leaves a 1-2 combo of Devonte Adams and Tutu Atwell for the Rams. They already had issues throwing the ball and this could increase the struggle.
With all of these things heading in the wrong direction, the Giants should be able to keep it within one touchdown. I wouldn’t shy away from a sprinkle on the moneyline as well.
