Football Pick of the Day (September 12th): NCAA Moneyline Pick
Oklahoma Sooners vs Michigan Wolverines
12:00pm – Saturday – September 12th
The Wolverines had a disastrous first week that nearly turned catastrophic. With Western Michigan coming to town, they needed a last second (maybe after?) prayer to win the game. While the result was bad, the performances didn’t bring much more hope either. Bryce Underwood looked confused at times and barely completed half of his passes. They vowed to get him more involved in the running game and he only ran for 47 yards – although that did lead the team. And apart from JJ Buchanan, the wide outs weren’t much to write about either.
Oklahoma is not only just a big overall step up in competition, but they are a massive step up on the defensive side. Western Michigan held Michigan to just 13 points, and perhaps should have been less. Meanwhile, Oklahoma was ranked by many outlets as the best defense in the country. Their defensive line is stout and held UTEP to 2.9 yards per carry. The pass rush is not far behind and I can’t think of a better team to try to keep Underwood in check.
If you add in the improvements to the offensive line – particularly the swath of tight ends they brought in – they should give Michigan trouble on both sides of the ball.
