Atlanta Braves vs Philadelphia Phillies

Start Time: 1:10 PM EST

Not only is it a National League East rival matchup going down tomorrow afternoon in the City of Brotherly Love, but it’s a showdown between the division’s top two teams, the first-place Atlanta Braves and the runner-up, the Philadelphia Phillies. However, I’d argue there is a bit of a gap between the two teams – not a gulf, but a gap – with the Braves five games ahead of the Phillies heading into action on Saturday night, as well as being rated 0.6 runs per game better based on advanced stats.

And I’m counting on that apparent superiority to come through tomorrow for the Braves as the two teams play the third of four games this holiday weekend. As of this writing, the Phillies just wrapped up a win on Saturday, so the series is tied 1-1 heading into tomorrow. But overall, Atlanta has had Philadelphia’s number this season, winning six of eight meetings.

The visitors send Tyler Mahle out to start tomorrow, and he’s been lights out since joining the team five starts ago. The Atlanta Braves, as a slight underdog on the moneyline, are my best bet for Sunday.
