College Football FCS Week 2 Preview & Picks Recap
The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its 2026 season coverage with FCS week 2 picks, a full FCS board rundown and Thursday night reactions. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) and Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) take a victory lap on their UMass money line call after Pop Watson and the Minutemen stunned Rutgers, salute Akron’s backdoor cover after the Reese Poffenbarger eligibility bombshell, and break down Colorado’s blocked-kick escape of Georgia Tech. Can Illinois State bury Western Illinois on the road? Does the Montana two-step of the Griz and Bobcats cash again? Is Chattanooga plus 12.5 the play against Tennessee Tech? Can Delaware State pull the money line upset at William & Mary? Does Weber State hang around at Southern Utah?
The guys then welcome Chris Van Dine (@chrisv160) of the Phil Steele FCS Preview Magazine, who hands out his own week 2 card: Austin Peay to cover at Vanderbilt, Alcorn State plus the points at Southern Miss, Wofford over Gardner-Webb, the over in Western Carolina vs Campbell and a fade of Tennessee Tech. Thursday Night Reaction: UMass Stuns Rutgers
The night started with a victory lap. The guys called UMass on the money line last week. Pop Watson delivered, going 19 of 22 with three touchdowns in Piscataway. From there, they saluted Akron’s backdoor cover at Wake Forest after the news that Reese Poffenbarger had been ruled ineligible. And then there was Colorado. The Buffs blocked a field goal to survive Georgia Tech 14-13. That game featured two blocked kicks and a Georgia Tech kick-return touchdown.
The FCS Week 2 Locks
Then the guys walked the entire FCS Week 2 board. They hit every kickoff from Franklin Pierce at Marist through the Sunday closer between South Carolina State and Florida A&M. Illinois State laying 24.5 at Western Illinois got the double lock in a rivalry that dates to 1904. Central Arkansas minus 7.5 over West Florida made the card. So did Utah State at home against Idaho State. The Montana two-step is back, with the Grizzlies and the Bobcats both in play. Weber State plus 15.5 at Southern Utah drew everyone in the room. Chattanooga plus 12.5 against Tennessee Tech earned a double lock on the Mocs. Delaware State on the money line at William & Mary rounded out the group.
Chris Van Dine’s Phil Steele FCS Plays
In the back half, Chris Van Dine of the Phil Steele FCS Preview Magazine joined the show. The conversation covered the week 1 upset bonanza and the FCS betting edge. It also hit Devin Brown’s arrival at Weber State and Cal Poly’s rise. Then Van Dine handed out his card. He likes the over in Youngstown State at Kentucky and Austin Peay to cover at Vanderbilt. He grabbed Alcorn State plus the points at Southern Miss too. He is also on Wofford over Gardner-Webb and the over in Western Carolina against Campbell. And he agrees with the guys on Chattanooga. The Phil Steele computer had that line closer to six than the 12.5 on the board.
