Although he has not hit very many home runs lately, Lawrence Butler is riding a ten-game hit streak and seems to be seeing the ball exceptionally well. If you want to stretch it out even further, he has hits in 19 of his last 21 games and hit .297 in August. That stretch is only aided by the fact that he has a great pitching matchup here.
Cody Bradford is on the hill for the Rangers. Butler has faced him 11 times in his career and has gone 6-for-10 with a walk. Half of those hits were for extra bases and two left the park.

While the numbers aren’t nearly as impressive as Butler, Burger does have hits in six of his last eight games with a pair of dingers. He’s hitting the ball hard and is seldomly striking out, which is something we love to see.
We also love to see a matchup that looks favorable for him. Jacob Lopez is on the hill and he has a positive history with the Athletics’ lefty. He’s 3-for-6 career with a pair of walks and a home run. We’ll look for him to keep hammering the ball and pick one up for us here.
