Minnesota Twins vs San Diego Padres

My winning play to wrap up the weekend comes from some interleague action, as the San Diego Padres and the Minnesota Twins wrap up their series. Both teams have hopes (the Padres more realistic) of making the playoffs, so every game counts heading down the stretch.
One of the reasons that San Diego has a good shot at seeing the postseason is the hot run they’ve been on. Going 7-3, 14-6, 20-10 over their past 10, 20, and 30 games (the last two marks tied for the best in the majors), the Padres have rocketed up the standings. And, not surprisingly, the advanced stats prefer the Padres to the Twins, rating them half a run per game better on average.
Add in the home field advantage (San Diego is 38-26 at Petco Park this season, tied for the sixth best mark in the majors; the Twins’ 28-35 road record is the 10th worst in the majors), and you can see why I’m making the Padres my best bet for Sunday. On a very reasonable moneyline, I might add.
